# Meshy 6 Retexture API

> Re-textures an uploaded 3D model from a text prompt or style image, with optional PBR maps and up to 8k textures

Replaces the surface textures of an existing mesh in .glb, .gltf, .obj, .fbx or .stl format. Style comes from `text_style_prompt` (up to 600 characters) or `image_style_url`, which takes precedence if both are given. `texture_resolution` can be 2k, 4k or 8k, `enable_pbr` adds metallic, roughness and normal maps, and `enable_original_uv` keeps the model's UV layout. Output includes a GLB, other formats, textures and a thumbnail.

## Pricing

Price: **from $0.30 / request** (the lowest tier; the quote prices your exact input). Billed once per request.

Price rules (the first rule that matches the input wins; a parameter you leave out counts as its default):

- When `texture_resolution` = 8k: $0.45 (450 API credits) / request

The full example input below costs $0.30 = 300 API credits (1 request × 300 API credits).

Prices are the upstream price in USD, paid from the API balance in API credits (1000 API credits = 1 USD). `POST https://api.doitong.com/v1/quote/meshy/v6/retexture` with the same JSON body returns the exact price for that input; the quote is exactly what a run charges. Invalid input is never charged and failed or canceled requests are refunded automatically.

## Run it

Set `DOITONG_API_KEY` to a key from https://doitong.com/developers/dashboard#keys. `?wait=20` returns the finished request in the same call when it is ready within 20 seconds; otherwise poll `GET /requests/{id}` (it also accepts `?wait=`), or pass `webhook_url`.

## Response

Every call returns a request object. `status` is one of `queued`, `running`, `succeeded`, `failed`, `canceled`. `outputs` lists the generated files with URLs on our storage (kept forever, or 7 days with `?storage=temporary`; `storage` says which); `output` is the model's own result object with the same URLs.
