NVIDIA and Foxconn Join Forces on Massive Taiwan AI Supercomputer

NVIDIA and Foxconn are partnering with Taiwan's government to build a state-of-the-art AI supercomputer featuring 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. The project, announced by NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang at Computex 2025, will deliver advanced AI infrastructure to researchers, startups, and industries including TSMC. Alongside this initiative, NVIDIA unveiled plans for a new Taiwan headquarters called 'Constellation' in Taipei's Beitou-Shilin Technology Park.

In a significant boost to Taiwan's AI capabilities, NVIDIA and Foxconn are collaborating to build what they're calling an "AI factory supercomputer" that will dramatically expand the island's artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The supercomputer will be powered by 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, with Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council investing in the project to provide AI cloud computing resources to the local technology ecosystem. This initiative aims to accelerate AI development and adoption across various sectors in Taiwan.

Foxconn will leverage the supercomputer to enhance its operations across three core areas: smart cities, electric vehicles, and manufacturing. For smart cities, the AI factory will optimize connected transportation systems and other civil resources. In the electric vehicle sector, it will enable advanced driver-assistance and safety systems. For manufacturing, the infrastructure will implement AI-driven analytics, automation, and digital twin technologies to streamline operations.

TSMC researchers plan to utilize the system to significantly accelerate their research and development efforts, achieving orders-of-magnitude faster performance compared to previous-generation systems. "AI has ignited a new industrial revolution — science and industry will be transformed," said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA. "We are delighted to partner with Foxconn and Taiwan to help build Taiwan's AI infrastructure, and to support TSMC and other leading companies to advance innovation in the age of AI and robotics."

Huang emphasized the importance of having world-class AI infrastructure in Taiwan, and also unveiled NVIDIA Constellation, a new office in Taiwan's Beitou-Shilin Technology Park. The project was symbolically introduced with a video showing NVIDIA's US office launching into space and landing in Taiwan. During his keynote, Huang highlighted Taiwan's key role in the global semiconductor industry, saying, "It all starts in Taiwan," and emphasized that NVIDIA is not just building AI for the world, but also for Taiwan.

The partnership comes as NVIDIA continues to strengthen its position in AI computing. At Computex 2025, the company also announced "NVLink Fusion," new silicon that opens its AI ecosystem to non-NVIDIA chips. This move signals a strategic shift as the company looks to strengthen its grip on AI infrastructure and remain central to the future of artificial intelligence. "NVLink Fusion is new silicon that lets industries build semi-custom AI infrastructure with the vast ecosystem of partners building with NVIDIA NVLink™, the world's most advanced and widely adopted computing fabric," NVIDIA said in a news release.
