Wistron Secures $923M to Fuel Global AI Manufacturing Expansion

Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Wistron Corp is raising up to $923 million by selling global depository shares on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange, according to a term sheet reviewed by Reuters on June 5, 2025. The company, a key supplier to AI chip leader Nvidia, is offering up to 250 million depository shares priced between $36.20 and $36.93, representing a 4-6% discount to its recent closing price.

The capital raise comes at a strategic time for Wistron, which has been rapidly expanding its AI manufacturing capabilities globally. The company plans to use the proceeds primarily to purchase raw materials in foreign currencies, supporting its growing operations in high-performance computing and AI-related products. The shares are scheduled to begin trading on June 16.

This fundraising follows Wistron's announcement last month that its new U.S. manufacturing facilities for Nvidia would be operational next year. These facilities in Dallas, Texas, are part of Nvidia's ambitious plan to produce AI servers worth up to $500 billion in the United States over the next four years. Wistron has already committed $500 million to its U.S. subsidiary to support this expansion.

"I believe it's exactly in line with what the customer announced. All our progress will follow the customer's lead," Wistron CEO Jeff Lin said regarding the company's U.S. expansion plans. The company is also in discussions with other potential customers to utilize its growing manufacturing capacity.

Wistron's financial performance has been strengthening alongside the AI boom, with the company reporting record-breaking revenue of $33.3 billion in 2024. In April 2025, the company saw an 84.1% year-on-year increase in monthly revenue to NT$133.7 billion (approximately $4.5 billion), highlighting the strong demand for its AI server manufacturing capabilities.

As global demand for AI infrastructure continues to surge, Wistron is positioning itself as a critical player in the supply chain, balancing its manufacturing presence across multiple regions to navigate evolving trade policies and capitalize on the growing market for high-performance AI computing solutions.
