Teen Prodigy's AI Startup Delv.AI Reaches $12M Valuation

In an era where artificial intelligence is reshaping industries, one of the field's most remarkable success stories comes from an unexpected source: a teenager who founded her company before she could drive.

Pranjali Awasthi, a 16-year-old entrepreneur based in Florida, has established herself as a formidable presence in the AI landscape with her startup Delv.AI, currently valued at $12 million (₹100 crore). Founded in January 2022, the company has quickly gained traction for its innovative approach to research data extraction and analysis.

Awasthi's journey began early—at age seven, she started coding under the guidance of her engineer father who championed computer science education. After moving from India to Florida at age 11, she immersed herself in competitive math and programming. By 13, she was interning at Florida International University's research labs, working on machine learning projects.

Delv.AI's core technology addresses a critical challenge in the research community: efficiently extracting specific information from the vast sea of online content. The platform employs advanced machine learning algorithms to eliminate data silos, allowing researchers to query multiple documents simultaneously, integrate with cloud drives, and export results in structured formats. The system can also generate AI-driven graphical representations such as pie charts, treemaps, and heatmaps to visualize data patterns.

"We've reached 10,000+ users in just over a month since the launch of Delv 2.0, and are conducting 10+ pilots with R&D companies across Asia, North America, and Europe," Awasthi reported in a recent interview. The platform offers multiple subscription tiers, including a free option, a $10/month standard plan, and custom enterprise solutions.

The startup has attracted significant investment, securing $450,000 in funding from prominent backers including On Deck, Village Global, and AngelList Quant Fund. Awasthi temporarily paused her high school education to focus on growing her company, which now employs a team of approximately ten people—all older than herself.

As Delv.AI continues to expand its capabilities and user base, Awasthi remains focused on her mission to make AI accessible and beneficial for everyone, demonstrating that age is merely a number when it comes to technological innovation and entrepreneurship.
