ABB has strengthened its position in the autonomous robotics market with the launch of the Flexley Mover P603, an innovative platform AMR that packs extraordinary capabilities into a remarkably compact form factor.

Despite being only the size of a coffee table, the P603 can transport payloads of up to 1500 kg (3,306.9 lb), making it the most compact model in its class to handle such heavy loads. The robot's AI-powered Visual SLAM navigation system enables it to operate autonomously in dynamic industrial environments without relying on physical guides, reflectors, or infrastructure modifications, while achieving industry-leading positioning accuracy of ±5 mm.

"Our Autonomous Mobile Robots combine 3D vision with autonomous path planning to give our customers an unprecedented offering: robots that see, sense, and think," said Marc Segura, President of ABB Robotics. "Our leap in technology brings new levels of intelligence, adaptability, and ease of use to intralogistics."

The P603's differential bidirectional drive system enables smooth movement in tight production and warehouse layouts, while its innovative suspension system allows deployment in facilities with both smooth and non-ideal flooring conditions. With a top speed of 2 m/s and 24/7 operating capability, the robot is 10% faster than average SLAM-based AMRs.

Designed with modularity in mind, the P603 supports a wide range of load types and dimensions, including open and closed pallets, containers, racks, and trolleys, all handled with a single AMR and flexible top module configuration. This versatility makes it ideal for various intralogistics applications, including end-of-line operations, goods-to-robot transport, line supply, inter-process connection, and kitting.

The P603 is part of ABB's vision of Autonomous Versatile Robotics, where machines can seamlessly switch between tasks in real-time with minimal effort. It works with the latest version of AMR Studio software, which enables drag-and-drop workflow design for rapid setup and customization, allowing systems integrators and end users to build and modify applications with ease.
