One honest detail about the GPT Image 2 comparison
GPT Image 2 does not reach 4K on every aspect ratio: at 1:1 its ceiling is 2K, and at auto, 5:4 and 4:5 it is 1K. A request above the ceiling is quietly reduced rather than rejected. The billing side is fair about it — the price is computed from the same normalised aspect ratio that decides what gets delivered, so the tier you are charged for can never exceed the tier you received. Worth knowing when you compare an 800-credit GPT Image 2 4K render against a 750-credit Nano Banana Pro one: on some ratios the 800-credit tier is not reachable.
What flat pricing does not buy you
There is no cheap tier. Seedream 5 splits into Lite and Pro, so drafts can be made at 100 credits and only the final frame costs more. Nano Banana Pro has one price: every test render, every prompt tweak and every discarded variation costs 750 credits, the same as the frame you keep.
