Establishing reference photograph of a place: Night courtyard of an abandoned building, weathered red brick wall with a rusty vertical drainpipe leaving a narrow dark gap against the bricks. Wet cracked asphalt reflects the cold bluish-green glow of overhead mercury lamps. Puddles, scattered debris, broken dark windows above, damp mist in the air. Empty and still, no vehicles, no headlights. Cinematic realistic style, moody low-key lighting, shallow depth of field, rich textures of rust, grime and moisture, 35mm film look.
