Dusk settles on a remote coast. Inside a lighthouse station, three bowls of stew grow cold. A door, left unlatched, drifts on its hinge. A neighbor, arriving on a supply ship, finds the scene. He hears only the radio's low hum. Chairs are slightly askew. Footprints lead from the threshold to the slick, black rock of the cliff's edge… and vanish into the foam. No one ever comes back.
